With the holidays behind us, it’s a great time to review your e911 addresses and alerts to make sure all emergency information is up to date.
With the passage of two major pieces of legislation – Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act – the FCC established uniform federal standards for companies to drop an area code when dialing 911 and to provide accurate « dispatchable location » information within telecommunications systems. This also includes internal notifications to on-site employees to assist in an emergency response.
ACC’s VoIP systems are already fully compliant with both laws, but as a reminder, PLfacilitate the update or notify ACC Telecom of any changes associated with your e911 or POC addresses.
Download this guide and e911 checklist to find out what these laws mean for your business and how to stay compliant.
